Syria Media Literacy Lab

The Syria Media Literacy Lab is a free, advanced training program for Syrian journalists, editors, bloggers, social media actors, and other content creators. It strengthens quality journalism, supports the fight against disinformation, and promotes collaboration among Syrian professionals across regions and backgrounds. All participants receive a small grant for their own productions and are supported and accompanied by regionally and internationally renowned and experienced experts.

A Program for Strong Journalism

Program Overview

The Lab is centered on practical engagement, mutual exchange, and learning together. It provides in-depth training through three virtual workshops and a one- week intensive program in Amman, Jordan.
It combines practical learning with theoretical knowledge, covering international standards of journalism, fact-checking, and strategies for dealing with misinformation and propaganda.

Who Can Participate?

✔The program is open to Syrian journalists, editors, bloggers, social media actors, and other content creators.
✔Both experienced professionals and young media practitioners are encouraged to apply.
✔Participants must be Syrian nationals, whether residing inside the country or abroad.

How It Works

✔ Three virtual workshops (mid-October to early November 2025)
✔ One week-long, in-person training in Amman (8–15 November 2025)
✔ The training is led by renowned regional and international journalists, media researchers, and experts in countering fake news and propaganda.
✔ They provide guidance, feedback, and technical support to help participants produce their own high-quality journalistic work.
