Media in Cooperation & Transition (MICT)
Media in Cooperation & Transition (MICT), is a German non-profit media development organisation. It specializes in delivering expert media services, training, and content production in crisis and transition contexts.
MICT operates across three continents and more than 15 countries, supporting journalism through media training, production of radio programs, films, books, and publishing, alongside media research and monitoring.
The organisation also plays an active role in protecting journalists under threat through initiatives such as the MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices, which assists journalists from countries like Afghanistan, Ukraine, Sudan, and Myanmar with relocation, support, and safety.
MICT’s work is underpinned by a values-centered approach to media as a catalyst for inclusive dialogue, with funding from reputable donors like the German Federal Foreign Office, UNESCO, GIZ, and many more.
Jordan Media Institute (JMI)
Founded in 2006 by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) is a non-profit educational institution based in Amman. It was established as the first Arab institute dedicated entirely to journalism education and media training in the region.
JMI offers a practical Master’s degree in Journalism and New Media in cooperation with the University of Jordan, with both comprehensive and thesis tracks offered in Arabic—with some classes and guest lectures in English.
The institute also runs professional development workshops in journalism, radio, television, and digital media using world-class newsrooms, studios, and academic infrastructure. It has been pivotal in advancing media literacy across Jordan and the broader Arab region.
